Hi- I think it would depend upon how deep those scratches are. If they are not too deep, you should be able to buy some Filler Sticks. They look like crayons, but you rub them over the scratches to hide the worn out areas. This is going to sound odd but it worked for us.


We took a bucket of crayons and found an exact match to our floors. Then, we filled the scratches with the crayon (which is wax) and it matched perfectly. It doesn t come off when you wash. Howards Restore a Finish will do the trick for such a large area. You can buy a formulation that will come in a color to match your wood tone.


Then just wipe it along the scratch to fill it in. It will not damage the existing finish, you. Then, to fix shallow or superficial scratches, apply a wood staining marker or a thin layer of sealant to them. You can also try rubbing wood wax over the scratches, then buffing the wax and covering the area with stain or sealant. For deeper scratches or gouges, apply wood filler that closely matches your floor’s color.


Fill the scratch with premixed wood filler. Use a plastic putty knife to fill the scratch with wood filler that matches the color of the floor. Let the filler dry thoroughly.
