Nv4500 main shaft

Our company is at the pinnacle of the fifth gear upgrade technology. I have it sitting on my bench with the input shaft out and the 5th gear assembly and tail shaft housing removed. Now how do I get the shaft out. Broken 5th gear teeth are almost always caused by a combination of shaft misalignment (loose bearings or defective tailhousing) and exceeding the demonstrated 6Lb.


You should verify exactly what you have for an output shaft before you order a slip yoke. If you do this, i understand that it will be the last time you will be in there. My was in real good shape, so I tossed the split nut and ordered a early full nut and red locktited and staked it times around the shaft. The 2nd grar on mainshaft is fine, no burrs or anything. And I sold the spline shaft on ebay several months back. But I still have yet to buy the spline dodge shaft , or the rebuild kit for it. Oem Steering Column - $94.


This updated main shaft increases the spline length by 1″ and we use a retaining clip to accomplish a 1 sure fix for this problem. The output shaft has splines and is flush with the rear. The front end of the main case.

I changed my diesel main for the gasser just had to buy a new 5th gear and mainshaft nut easy deal.
