I just replaced the pump on my ford (which would be similar) and they are very reasonably priced. Definitely worth the cost for the effort of rebuilding. The hardest part is getting the pulley off the pump shaft. Go to the parts store, buy a new or re-manufactured pump. Its not worth your time to rebuild one.
