Trans temp gauge install

We decided to install the larger plug because it gave the sensor much more contact area with the trans. Position gauge in mounting hole. Install mounting bracket, nuts and lock washers in position. Install one brass flat washer, one lock washer and one nut on each stud. If drilling a mounting hole in a panel to mount this gauge , the hole size should be 2. I just installed my A-pillar pod mount and took your advise of an in-line install of Transmission temperature sensor instead of the welding of fitting to pan.


All right, i put in the sender unit and hooked it all up to the best of my know-how, but dosent work. After some research, I decided to pickup a digital temp gauge , along with a sender (the sender gets mounted in the transmission pan). I have a Hayden aftermarket trans cooler but need to monitor the temps.


As long as you have a large enough cooler you can have a yudge stall and still be fine.

With a correct sized cooler and converter locked up. Where do you guys have yours mounted and where did you put the sending unit for the gauge ? Here is a quick writeup on installing the stock tranny temp gauge into your cluster. I plan to install a trans temp gauge.


I will temporarily install the gas gauge needle in the trans - temp position.
