Constant-velocity joints (also known as homokinetic or CV joints) allow a drive shaft to transmit power through a variable angle, at constant rotational spee without an appreciable increase in friction or play. A CV joint is packed with a special grease and sealed tight with the rubber or plastic boot, that is held in place with two clamps. A CV joint is filled with a special lubricating grease that is sealed tight within the rubber or plastic boot.

Basically as long as the protective CV joint boot itself is not damaged.
